The 17 Percent of Men are starting to get a few enquiries now, so we should be able to begin group meetings in Hereford in the next few months. No doubt to begin with it may be a smallish group, but as we become more widely known throughout the county our groups will become more numerous and frequent. There are many men in Herefordshire who were sexually abused.
We will be asking for a suggested donation of £5 at each meeting, if men are able to give this. This is to defray the cost of room hire etc, and will enable funds to go further until we can acquire new funding streams.
I am meeting with Social Prescribers in the county in October. They work from GP surgeries throughout Herefordshire and they will make referrals to the 17 Percent of Men for those men who need support.
